By popular request, we’ll soon be including integrated Google Maps in our iPhone metro map apps for Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Singapore. Just tap on any station and choose “Street map” to see the area around the selected station. You can pan and zoom the map to see more.

We’re delighted to announce new PDF maps for all our ExploreMetro cities! Now you can print out and carry a handy A4 printout for Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Singapore, besides the Shanghai map we already offered.

To download the maps, just click on the “PDF map” tab on any of our city sites, or follow the download links below. The PDF maps are available in both English and Chinese versions. If you have any feedback or spot any mistakes on the map, do get in touch!

We’re pleased to announce Explore Beijing 1.5 for iPhone – the best Beijing Subway app for iPhone just got better!

One of the great new features in version 1.5 is “Find my nearest”. When you’re exploring the capital, and want to find the nearest subway station, just tap the “Nearest” tab. Using your iPhone’s GPS (or wifi signals on the iPod touch) we’ll provide a list of nearest stations, as well as approximate distances and directions:

We’re proud to announce the launch of our second iPhone app – the Explore Beijing Subway map. The latest version of our Explore Shanghai Metro map is now on the iTunes App Store! The latest update adds the latest extensions to the network: Line 11 and Line 9 phase 2. Version 1.2 is a free update for existing users! Not downloaded our app yet? It’s only $0.99 and includes:

You wait ages for a iPhone metro map, then three come along at once Building on the success of our ExploreShanghai Shanghai metro iPhone app (still available at the introductory price of just $0.99!) we’re working on not one but three new iPhone apps: ExploreBeijing, ExploreGuangzhou and ExploreHK.

Beijing Subway Line 4 will open on September 25, according to reports! Line 4 is run by Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation, but is fully integrated with the rest of the network (including the standard 2 RMB fare). We’ve just pushed out an update to our ExploreBeijing site with the new line.
